From this lesson, students will accomplish a sense of identity within themselves and each other. They will complete a product (artwork-covered benches) that represents some of their identities, and through reflection, will make key connections with other students.
TEACHERS have constructed wooden benches for the students to use as their canvas.
STUDENTS will create brainstorming symbols to incorporate onto the benches as surface embellishments. They will finish with several products: the stencils, the surface decoration on the benches, and finished ideation sheets.
