Day 1 Schedule:

Part 1

Teacher Introductions from Linny, Bethany, and Sophie

 

Teachers begin presentation: 

  • The teacher will present the project slideshow, and give an overview of the schedule.

 

  • Introduce Key Artists & Forms

  • Ideation Time

  •  

Step 1: Understanding Identity Concepts

 

Part 2

(Bethany leads the teacher artist slide/reference material portion)

 

Teacher leads a discussion on identity and fills out an ideation sheet

 

Step 2: Developing Personal Identity Ideation

Step 3: Creating Personal Identity Symbol

 

Part 3

Teachers lead Workshop intro:

  • Woodshop demo

  • Introduce workshop manager Cecilia, and she assists in carving and processing stencils

 

Step 4: Accessing new technology knowledge; laser cutting technology. 

Step 5: Creating Laser Cut stencil

 

*With any remaining time:

  • Teachers facilitate extra time to brainstorm symbols

​

End of class goal: At least ½ of our students should have their stencils and be ready to paint by day 2.
